Gaye Su Akyol

Courage. Bravery. Daring. Everything on Anadolu Ejderi – the «Anatolian Dragon» – breathes fire. It takes chances, the lyrics offer an exploration of politics in today’s Turkey.

In a political climate where a woman's commitment to her passion, to falling in love, to her sexual identity is revolutionary enough, she is deeply passionate and able to express her love freely.

Already lauded for her startling, innovative mix of Turkish psychedelia, folk songs, surf music, and 90s Western rock - a global sweet spot where Anatolian music heroine Selda Bağcan rubbed shoulders with Kurt Cobain - GSA expands her vision. The new album is the awakening of a mythological dragon from a deep sleep. The simultaneous transformation of millions of cells into an organism, waiting for a sign in its cave. A resistance that reiterates that the only remedy against pure evil is collective action, in a fairy tale where everyone has to learn to be their own superhero.

Süperfly / Tuncay Acar

Before Gaye Su Akyol takes the stage we will learn more about Turkish music from the 70ies and 80ies with Tuncay Acar aka Süperfly. Packing his favorite records, Tuncay will tell us stories about the heroines and heroes of the past.

Growing up in two «Funky Towns» Munich and Istanbul, Tuncay Acar explores the innermost depths of norientalism by permanently crossing the boundaries of cultural, ethnic, geographical, chronological, fictional regions, and musical genres. The goal is to deconstruct the omnipresent dominance of identity concepts in dance music to make room for unabashed transcultural ecstasy.

He expands his exquisite vinyl collection with digital artifacts from various genres: Kurdish Halay, Gazinomüzik, Arabesk, Anatolian and Arabian Psychedelia, Electro and Hip Hop mashups, edits and remixes of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern psychedelic classics, hit songs from Turkey, Greece, the Middle East, Israel, Egypt, Maghreb, North Africa, the Balkans, and from Memphis/Tennessee amalgamate with a pinch of Latin Boogaloo in the broth of passion and the heat of the Southeast.

The versatile cultural activist, networker, organizer, blogger, Dj, musician, and studied classical archaeologist is also part of the first squad of graffiti pioneers in Europe as «Blash». He blogs at tripdown.de since 2011, and has been recently involved at the Habibi Kiosk program at the Münchner Kammerspiele, where he hosts the monthly talk «Dies Das».
